Chandler, Ariz. – November 20, 2009 –Bodhi Body Integrative Medical Centers, a premier medical facility in Chandler, Arizona is telling women that if they want to survive breast cancer, early detection is key by educating them about a new painless state-of-the-art method called Digital Thermography.
The session entitled, “Wine, Women & Wellness – A “Heated” Discussion About Your Breasts,” will take place Thursday, December 3 at Bodhi Body on 2915 W. Ray Road from 6 p.m. On Friday, December 4 Bodhi Body will be taking scheduled appointments for thermograms.
Digital Thermography is a fairly new procedure that uses ultra-sensitive infrared cameras and sophisticated computers to detect, analyze and produce high-resolution diagnostic images of temperature and vascular changes. The procedure is both comfortable and safe using no radiation or compression.
“Early detection is key to avoid having a medical nightmare on your hands later. For example, studies have clearly shown that the smaller the size of the breast cancer when detected, the better the chance of a surgical cure and long-term survival,” says Dr. Garrett Wdowin, Founder and Chief Medical Officer at Bodhi Body. “Mammograms compress the breasts tightly, which could lead to a lethal spread of any existing malignant cells. They expose your body to radiation that can be 1,000 times greater than that from a chest x-ray. This makes you unnecessarily vulnerable to further risks of radiation-induced cancer.”
Wdowin goes on to say, “By carefully examining changes in the temperature and blood vessels of the breasts, signs of possible cancer or pre-cancerous cell growth may be detected years prior to being discovered using any other procedure. This provides for the earliest detection of cancer possible. Due to breast thermography’s extreme sensitivity, these temperature variations and vascular changes may be among the earliest signs of breast cancer and/or a pre-cancerous state of the breast.”

Breast thermography has been researched for over 30 years, and over 800 peer-reviewed breast thermography studies exist in the index-medicus. In this database, well over 250,000 women have been included as study participants. The numbers of participants in many studies are very large– ranging from 37,000 to 118,000 women.
