What should a new patient expect during the initial visit to Bodhi Body?
During the initial visit the patient will meet with one of our physicians where an extensive history will be taken, labs reviewed, physical exams performed, laboratory testing ordered, and nutritional and lifestyle recommendations made. Please be prepared to spend a considerable amount of time at Bodhi Body the day of your initial visit.
How often are patients seen after their initial visit?
Most of our patients find ongoing supervision and follow ups to be very important elements for successful compliance and prompt resolution of their health concerns or conditions. The schedule of follow ups will be determined by the physician depending on the patient's condition, treatment protocol, and expected outcomes. Often when laboratory test results are completed the patient will need to have a follow-up visit with a doctor to review and discuss adjustments to the treatment plan.
Does insurance cover visits to Bodhi Body Integrative Medical Centers?
This answer depends on the company, type, group, and plan of the insurance. Although Bodhi Body does not accept or file any insurance claims we will gladly provide the patient with a form to submit to the carrier and the contact information of a service that will assist in the filing of the claim. We will also provide any additional information that the carrier requires once the claim has been filed. Each insurance company is a little different and we have seen 100% reimbursement and 0% reimbursement.
Do patients at Bodhi Body stop their previously prescribed medications?
No. Many patients have a desire to decrease their reliance on pharmaceutical medications due to various side effects. We do not encourage or advise anyone to stop any medication previously prescribed to them by another physician without the direction and supervision of one of our Bodhi Body physicians.
What are the offices fees?
Please call the office and speak with our patient care coordinator to discuss costs associated with visits to Bodhi Body because there is no set fee for an initial visit with accompanying tests because workups are very individualized. Some patients may require only a few specialized blood tests while others with more chronic diseases may require a much more extensive work up.
What payments are accepted?
We accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, Visa, personal checks and cash. Payment is expected at the time of service.
How do I make an appointment?
Please contact one of our patient activists at 877-820-5115 to schedule an initial appointment. We look forward to assisting you in the accomplishment of your health goals.
May I speak with someone before I schedule an appointment?
Absolutely, we believe it is important for us to identify those patients we can help and to give a better idea of what to expect at our center. Please call us to speak to one of our patient activists.
What conditions does the center specialize in addressing?
Bodhi Body is equipped to address a very wide range of medical conditions including heart disease, cancer, auto immune conditions, hormone imbalances, neurological conditions, fibromyalgia, etc. Although we offer treatments for many chronic diseases we spend a great deal of time promoting prevention. Staying healthy and decreasing your personal risk factors is very important and can help to dramatically decrease the future risk of chronic disease.
How long does it usually take to see results?
This question really depends on the individuals' case, goals, and therapies performed. Some patients feel better, with increased energy, right after their first visit especially after performing intravenous therapies or our Ingenious IV's. In general with our chronic disease patients we relay the point that their disease processes didn't happen overnight and we can't expect the correction of these processes over night. Often when treating these chronic conditions major improvement can take weeks to months. There is no "magic bullet" and health is a lifelong commitment.
With that said, a quick story: a woman in her early 90's was seen by one of our doctors, prescribed intravenous therapies, and after just two therapies she and her family noticed an increase in strength, stamina, stability, reading ability, mental clarity, and overall well being. Needless to say, she was very happy she made an appointment.
What if I live out of state?
We will gladly assist our out of state patients or anyone traveling a great distance to visit Bodhi Body. Generally people need assistance finding a hotel, a place to purchase groceries, and often are interested in activities to partake in while in Arizona. Our Health Advocates will be happy to give you more information when you call us. It is advised that office visits for out of state patients occur in the beginning of the week and in the early morning. This allows the physician the ability to order and prescribe all the necessary tests and therapies due to possible laboratory, shipping, and or therapy limitations or demands.
Does the Bodhi Body treat children?
Yes and our physicians have considerable experience and success in working with children with allergic conditions like asthma, psoriasis, eczema, and ear infections. Since Bodhi Body doesn't currently have a pediatrician on staff we recommend you maintain care for your child via a pediatrician. Bodhi Body can add the vital perspectives of nutritional support, allergy advice, and individualized treatments to your child's care. Generally we prefer to treat children no younger than four years of age.
Should I keep my other doctors? What about emergencies?
All patients are required to maintain an ongoing relationship with their primary care physician for crisis interventions because we do not have any hospital affiliations and will not provide care for emergency situations. If an emergency occurs please call 911. Bodhi Body focuses on preventive medical services and care for chronic medical conditions. Patients who have questions may call the office during normal business hours to have them answered in a timely fashion. Phone calls placed during non business hours to our center may be left on the answering machine and will be answered during the next business day that a physician is at the center.
What if my other doctors don't support my use of integrative or complementary medicine?
Physicians who are only conventionally trained have varied responses to their patients' wishes to utilize integrative and complementary approaches. Often times they are content with continuing their prescribed therapies, allow the patient to pursue with complementary and alternative therapies, and are happy to see their patients improve. Other times the physician will dissuade the patient and tell them they are wasting their time. This response may result from a sincere but incorrect belief that complementary methods are ineffective or dangerous, or that they distract patients from the goals of what those doctors feel are definitive conventional medical cures.
Although not every physician is supportive of what we do at Bodhi Body, we always suggest and recommend that a patient inform all the physicians they are currently working with of all the medications taken and therapies currently being performed.
Bodhi Body understands that the response to integrative and complementary medicine is varied. Therefore we have formed a list of referrals that are friendly to our services and a library of medical research supporting these services. We do not hide anything; we support our therapies with research and success stories, and are willing to share information with other physicians assisting our patients with their health.
